June Forecast

June is a tit-for-tat type of month. We get a little in return with one of our least favorite retrogrades ending and not experiencing any life-changing eclipse portals. There are some significant transits, but none are seriously rocking the boat. However, we will take on two outer planet transits that will last for a good portion of 2022, along with a shift into a new zodiacal season. While we can expect a little more retrograde madness slowly unfold, it appears that the astrology of June can be a great segway into exciting summer energy!

Major Transits

Beginning on June 3, Mercury finally stations direct in Taurus! Now direct, fixed signs (Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, Aquarius) will feel immediate relief. Unfortunately, we have to work our way back through the post-shadow phase, which will last until June 18 – 19. The post-shadow (and pre-shadow) period is arguably harder to navigate than the retrograde. As we work through the first half of this period while Mercury is in Taurus, we will have to stabilize our thoughts, interactions, and conversations. Stability comes from a feeling of security and value, suggesting that Mercury in Taurus will need to find some sort of common ground in the post-shadow phase. A desire to tangibly grasp the retrograde period may also resume during the post-shadow phase as Mercury in Taurus struggles to make sense of what has occurred. Since tangibility is significant to Mercury in Taurus, it may be best to gather your thoughts and experiences. Collect any items, materials, and resources that played a part in the Mercury retrograde. Write down your thoughts, organize your ideas through pictures, or create a diagram for the structure you may want to implement. Physically organizing yourself in the post-shadow phase can give Mercury in Taurus something to work with.

The sense of relief is brief for those fixed signs (and the rest of us) since Saturn stations retrograde in Aquarius a day later. Since Saturn is further from the sun, it will have a longer retrograde period that lasts until October 23. Fixed signs within orb (-/+ 3) of 25 degrees will feel this immediately though.

Retrogrades are a period of rethinking, reviewing, then revising. Ideally, a retrograde will unearth what isn’t working to show us what aspects of our lives need attending to. This process is typically uncomfortable since retrogrades are all about the good, the bad, and the ugly! When Saturn stations retrograde, the major malefic undergoes a masterclass in accountability, responsibility, authority, karma, and timing. From now until October, Saturn retrograde encourages the collective to go deeper than ever before to understand the karmic interplay of duty in our lives. The initial malefic energy is a hard pill to swallow since Saturn retrograde turns this energy inward, especially since this is occurring in an air sign.

An arguable saving grace for Saturn retrograde is that it’s occurring in one of its domiciles – Aquarius. The Water Bearer is a fixed, masculine air sign, suggesting that this transit may be semi-immovable that is impartial to progressiveness over tradition, but in its own time and way. As Saturn retrograde moves through the fixed nature of Aquarius, there will be an initial stubbornness to change. Assuming responsibility or accountability may be avoided at first, especially if it feels like an attack on one’s intelligence. But once push comes to shove, Saturn retrograde in Aquarius begins to collect the acceptance of one’s mental, communicative, and social influence within a larger community. The masculine drive of Saturn retrograde encourages force but is done with cautious contemplation. After all, the Water Bearer is responsible for the facilitation of knowledge into the world, so it must do it responsibly. Throughout these next few months, Saturn retrograde in Aquarius will have an inner monologue that plays on repeat as it reconsiders the duty to friendship, community, networking, technology, social media platform presence, and research. What we choose to be responsible for will play out in our interactions on and offline. No matter the direction Saturn retrograde leads to, choose the one that honors your authenticity, eccentricity, and independence.

Interestingly, Saturn retrograde begins with a square to Mercury and the Nodes. The Mercurial square indicates an initial setback as we consider the value of communication and knowledge. Use this square to assume responsibility for how your interactions have impacted others. When Saturn retrograde ends, it will be trine to Mercury. While the square reiterates the need to understand that knowledge is power, the trine can suggest accepting the responsibility of such understanding.

Later on, Mercury enters Gemini on June 13, kicking off part two of the post-shadow period. Now that Mercury has finished conceptualizing the retrograde during the first phase of the post-shadow period, it can now look toward the varying directions of the post-shadow phase. Mercury in Gemini can now reconsider the direction it will take with its ideas, conversations, curiosity, and interactions. The post-shadow period will finally conclude between June 18 to 19. Afterward, Mercury can enjoy the rest of its stay in its domicile sign of Gemini. I suggest reading my excerpt on direct Mercury in Gemini in my May Forecast.

A day later, the full moon in Sagittarius warmly rounds out a six-month cycle that began last year. Plus, this is the first full moon in Sagittarius that has not doubled as an eclipse, but we may see some ecliptic themes come up from mid-2020 to the end of 2021. Full moons often represent the culmination of a cycle, a chapter closing, or the manifestation of something. This particular lunar phase can amplify our emotions as we may see something in our lives fully illuminated. As it is occurring in mutable, fiery Sagittarius, we may feel more assertive in the passing of our cycles. When the big picture comes together under the expansive full moon, there could be a feeling of “what’s next?” Luna is encouraging us to round out this cycle while looking ahead as the future of what could be is already more exciting than what has happened. Generally speaking, the common themes of scorch and burn, exploration, spirituality, religion, morals, (all) belief systems, philosophy, and travel may pop up. Strong opinions are sure to be unleashed around this lunation, perhaps exciting the desire to expand upon a relatively shared belief or mindset – like bodily autonomy in the United States. On a positive note, there could be lessened travel restrictions for traveling abroad following this lunation!

If you are looking to capitalize on this lunation, consider meditating to connect with your higher consciousness. In true Sagittarius nature, you could do a quick meditation to get on with your day. But if you want to sit for a longer moment of reflection, you could opt to meditate for an hour instead.

This powerful lunation sextiles Saturn retrograde in Aquarius, implying expansive lunar harmony with the regressing modern malefic. When Luna and Saturn retrograde meet to discuss their philosophies, the culmination of the lunation may give Saturn retrograde a worldly perspective to consider. As the philosophies gathered from the last six months come to fruition, Saturn retrograde turns inward to reflect on the next steps one may take with this knowledge. However, the full moon does square mystical Neptune in Pisces, suggesting a sort of mutable madness. Neptune’s elusively may cause a smoke and mirrors effect surrounding the lunation. The emotional idealism swirling around the lunation is a direct result of the changeable square. Grasping the over-arching message from the last six months needs to be done within reason. Nothing is ever certain.

Gemini season finally ebbs its last flow as the sun enters Cancer on June 21. Cancer season is complex as one luminary, the sun, is now reporting to the other, the moon. A lunar-ruled sun is moodier than usual as it bodes a deep emotional intricacy that supersedes the light of the sun. As we go deeper into the depth of the lunar-powered season, Cancer’s sensitive moonchild comes out. Taking a stance on emotional reactions, gut feelings, and the desire to develop will excite our inner dignitaries. Cancer season is exceptionally fertile, allowing us to nurture our babies, whatever that might be. Consider building or sanctifying a sacred space to enjoy your creations throughout Cancer season!

The depth of Cancer season is alleviated just a tad as Venus enters Gemini the following day. Although Venus is now out of its domicile, it does have some fun in the sign of the cosmic messenger. Venus is now reporting to Mercury, implying a sense of quick communication and mental agility infused in the Venusian themes. Mercury acts like a live wire when Venus in Gemini is reporting to it. As a result, Venus is readily alert because of its mercurial sense of energy. But a mercurial Venus can be a little flighty! The quickness represents an ever-changing style. Each article of clothing, hairstyle, decoration, and more represents a different face of Venus in Gemini. So, this is the season where you may acquire iconic pieces that don’t match one another since Venus in Gemini likes to accessorize each personable aspect! Although this can be an excellent time to experiment by switching it up, Venus in Gemini can have a beauty-oriented identity crisis. Prepare for big chops (especially while Mars is in Aries), funky colors, a different outfit for every occasion, and more. Sacred spaces may take on a more eclectic feel. Venus in Gemini wants to showcase its many faces through its many aesthetics. Since Mercury is a neutral planet, a Mercury-ruled Venus may be partially oriented to looking or exemplifying an androgynous look. Even though this can be a riveting time to embody new aesthetics, Venus in Gemini may struggle to find its true sense of style. We may collectively feel less aligned with a particular aesthetic during this changeable Venusian era. The best way to enjoy Venus in Gemini is by exploring your identity by becoming a dynamic work of art.

Money is influenced by the wavering energy of Venus in Gemini. Finances are flowing to and from with ease, likely matching whatever catches Venus in Gemini’s eye. A money mentality is livelier during this type of transit, oriented to thinking constantly about money. On one hand, Venus in Gemini can encourage new trains of thought when considering opportunities to invest or make money. The communicative aspect of Venus in Gemini can present the opportunity for us to ask for raises, pitch ourselves, nail interviews, and land deals. Since clever Venus can talk money, think of Venus in Gemini as a used car salesman. Ways to make money may derive from the mercurial energy of Venus in Gemini, likely about communication, writing, editing, mentoring, coaching, selling, teaching, and even short-form posts on social media. However, on the other hand, the mental Venus in Gemini is perhaps overthinking money matters. Ruminating on what we have, don’t have, could have, etc. may be on a mental loop. Talking about money could also seem to be a never-ending conversation. Although the opportunity to diversify revenue is possible during Venus in Gemini, so is the potential to talk ourselves out of opportunities or over-analyze our bank account.

Aside from the diversity in cash flow, there might be diversity in romance as well! Singled or coupled, Venus in Gemini will excite the intellectual connection we have to our love interests. Mental stimulation is a significant aspect of this transit, especially if we are trying to attract love or keep it alive! Venus in Gemini needs light-hearted banter to fall and then stay in love. Perplexing questions, topics of discussion, current events, pop culture references, ideas, and jokes are the way to the heart of Venus in Gemini. As long as the conversation is alive, then so is the love. But Venus in Gemini is fickle with a wandering eye and an insatiable need to learn what love is. So, this is a non-committal transit. Dating (or fucking) around is preferable to monogamy (or monotony). The ability to flit to and from lover to lover is what Venus in Gemini craves as it is true bachelor/bachelorette energy. Couples may even open up to the idea of swinging or entertaining the idea of having an open relationship to spice up their love lives! Since Gemini is the sign of two faces, there is always the opportunity for public versus private romance to come up. Venus in Gemini could refer to having affairs, secret love interests, or keeping a partner hidden from aspects of one’s life. It can also produce the shadow side result of cheating of any kind. Since Mars will be in Aries, there is an insatiable lust not just for one person, but for many. It may be best to entertain a level of open-mindedness in love to enjoy the sensual passion coming from every direction possible.

A domicile new moon in Cancer begins a new lunar cycle that will carry into Capricorn season on June 28. New moons are a seed to be planted, nurtured, and developed over about six months. To have a domicile new moon is especially powerful as Luna is operating within its comfort zone of Cancer. But this power is moody, suggesting that the new moon can be an emotionally reactive, instinctive, and intelligent astrological event. Sensitivity will be running high! Themes relating to ancestry, lineage, family, home, and sacred spaces may come up. Uncovering aspects of one’s personal life through researching family lines and records may take precedence if there is a strong need to understand the self through previous generations. Cultivating a sacred space to fully feel and materialize is necessary. What this space is will be contingent upon the individual. For some, this will be the home. For others, this idea of a sacred space could be a room, car, office, or somewhere else that is of equal importance. Regardless of what it could be, make sure that you are nurturing a space that’s fulfilling to be in. Since this is the time to nurture a new cycle, treat it like a baby. Tend to it. Nurture it. Love it. Physical babies may also manifest since Jupiter and Mars are burning with passion in Aries. So, this could be an exceptionally fertile new moon in every way! However, it’s a sensitive lunation. An intuitive presence is notable as gut feelings are stronger than ever. Pay attention to what your intuition picks up around the lunation as it could be the new moon manifestation worth focusing on.

There could be a few fun yet witchy ways to honor the new moon in Cancer! Plant the seed of your intention for this lunar cycle by taking the first step or making the first action to get the ball rolling. Once you are emotionally invested in the process, the rest will follow. But don’t feel pressured to do it all at once. You can plan by intuitively channeling through meditation, art, or rest. Aside from this, a lovely new moon dip is perfect! Showering, bathing, swimming, or being by a body of water can help your body become attuned to the new moon’s energy. Consider working with crystals such as selenite, moonstone, or celestine!

Only one tense aspect is made to the new moon in Cancer which is a square with Jupiter in Aries. There needs to be a common ground established between instinct and intuition during this square so that both cardinal energies can work together instead of against one another. As the power of water and fire come together, it can lead to an emotional trigger or release. Everyone will be wearing their heart bravely on their sleeve during this new moon!

(Updated on 6/7) The Rising signs will experience a new cycle unfolding in these Houses:

  • Aries Rising: 4th House of Home, Family, Heritage, Mother/Mother-Figure
  • Taurus Rising: 3rd House of Neighborhood, Local Community, Local/Short-Distance Travel, Communication, & Siblings
  • Gemini Rising: 2nd House of Personal Finances, Financial Security, Material Items, Personal Property, Values
  • Cancer Rising: 1st House of the Self & Perception
  • Leo Rising: 12th House of Self-Undoing, Hidden Enemies, Hidden Weaknesses, Hidden Talents
  • Virgo Rising: 11th House of Greater Community, Friends, Friend Groups, Social Groups, Technology, Dreams, Humanity
  • Libra Rising: 10th House of Career, Legacy, Recognition, Public Status
  • Scorpio Rising: 9th House of Long-Term Travel, Higher Education, Spirituality, Law, Ethics, Morals, Beliefs
  • Sagittarius Rising: 8th House of Merging, Joint Assets/Finances, Marriages/Divorces, Taboo, Occult, Psychology, Sexual Bonds
  • Capricorn Rising: 7th House of Contracts, Commitments, Partners (of all kinds)
  • Aquarius Rising: 6th House of Work, Daily Grind, Routine, Healthy Habits/Practices, Pets
  • Pisces Rising: 5th House of Joy, Fun, Hobbies, Past-Times, Pregnancy/Children, Dating/Romance, Drama

Finally, the month concludes when Neptune stations retrograde in Pisces on June 28. Since Neptune is ridiculously far from the sun, it has an extremely long retrograde that will last until December 3. From now until then, there will be a slow yet sure rethinking, reviewing, then revising throughout Neptune retrograde. The effects of Neptune retrograde will be revealed over time, likely in a subconscious manner where inward revelations come to light. Arguably, Neptune retrograde is almost easier to handle than direct Neptune since the veil of fog slowly retreats during the retrograde period. However, as the haze dissipates, so do the delusions and confusions of Neptune. As Neptune retrograde is in Pisces, there are additional themes of escapism, service, compassion, absolution, spirituality, and creativity to consider. While Neptune retrograde implies clarity, there is also work to be done throughout it. Neptune retrograde only works if we accept whatever is behind the smoke and mirrors. It may result in the foreshadowing of accepting unsavory truths or finally embracing shattered illusions.
