August Forecast

Are you ready for a slightly chaotic month? August promises a slow build toward unexpected revelations and revolutions. From July 31 to August 2, there will be a series of aspects between Venus, Mars, Uranus, and the North Node. Since Uranus conjuncts the North Node in Taurus first, this is like the foundation that Mars and then Venus will build upon during these three days. Uranus conjuncts North Node indicating a fated twist of fate in the search for authenticity, innovation, and individuality. When Mars meets up with Uranus and the North Node, there is an underlying sense of determination added into the mix. Mars may act as an accelerator or antagonizer – that will depend on your personal relationship with this conjunction. Shortly after, Venus in Cancer will sextile Mars, Uranus, and the North Node, suggesting that there is an intuitive commitment to a radical course of action that may change on a whim. The resounding effect of these first few days will carry through August. Since Taurus is a fixed earth sing, we may see the effects come to fruition at a plodding pace. As the Uranus-North Node conjunction unfolds, there will also be some intensity building in other astrological departments when a few planets enter their pre-shadow phase. Another planet will also station retrograde at the end of the month. Luckily, there aren’t any eclipses!

Major Transits

Shortly after a radical first few days of August, Mercury will enter Virgo on August 4. Although the beginning of August comes in with quite a bang, this ingress should be anticipated. Of all the planets and zodiac signs, Mercury in Virgo is special because it is both domicile and exalted. Mercury is not only at home in Virgo, but also exalted within this sign. Special indeed! When Mercury enters Virgo, there will be almost an immediate yet subtle change in mental patterns, social agility, and communication. The boisterous energy of Mercury becomes subdued in the sign of the Virgin. Like an inconspicuous fly on the wall, Mercury in Virgo begins to take note of literally everything. Stepping into the role of an active listener comes naturally since Mercury in Virgo prefers to listen to gather as much information as possible. Nothing will escape this detail-focused zodiac sign. Scrutiny is next to perfection during this transit. Since Mercury in Virgo is on a high alert, everything will be considered. Small grammatical errors to Freudian slips are easily noticed. With this analytical transit unfolding for the first half of August, we may feel more aware of our inner monologues, interactions, and social outings. While Mercury in Virgo can help us notice the seemingly impossible, it can also lead to analysis paralysis. Being keen is only a strength if we do not let the details rule over our hearts and minds. Quieting a rambling train of thought is necessary so that Mercury in Virgo can ground itself before mulling over its options and information. Set aside time to meditate or quiet your mind through a relaxing activity during this Mercurial transit. By doing so, you have greater control over how you think and speak to yourself. Aside from the potential anxiety of Mercury in Virgo, this is an exceptionally organized transit. Mercury in Virgo is orderly in its own way, with an adjustable flow to see how certain things may fit together or how to coordinate your surroundings according to your specific details. Use the flexibility of Mercury in Virgo to try out different methods for your madness. Keep in mind that what works for you may not work for another! If you truly want to make the most of Mercury in Virgo, then you should work on listening to your intuition. Virgo traditionally rules over the digestive system, also known as our “Second Brain“. So, Mercury in Virgo can refer to the relationship our mind has with our gut, giving us our “gut feelings”. Pay attention to your second brain throughout this transit. Your gut feelings never lie!

Then there’s a bit of a lull until the full moon in Aquarius and Venus entering Leo on August 11!

The full moon in Aquarius draws an interesting split between the self-focused sun and communal moon. With the full moon coming full circle, a chapter or cycle is coming to a close. Full moons represent the wrap-up of six months of development. This lunar period might have been weird! Getting comfortable with the uncomfortable was a prominent theme as the unpredictable Aquarius energy sought stability through eccentricity. Individualistic identities and pursuits that are more authentic to you might feel more solidified by the full moon in Aquarius. Owning who you are and what you are about is necessary for this quirky lunation! Do not be afraid to show the real “you”. Since the full moon is in communal Aquarius, there might be kindred collective energy. Bonding with like-minded individuals and communities will come to mind as the full moon touches upon the development of friendly associations over the last six months. Reflect on how your community has treated you throughout this lunar period. Genuine bonds will show up as part of your support system whereas fickle friends may fade away. The communal element may expand upon one’s own greater community during this humanitarian full moon in Aquarius. Sociopolitical events will arise, especially if there is a strong call to bring forth technological advancement and humanitarian efforts to better the greater community. Getting outside of the Leo sun mindset to adopt a compassionate full moon in Aquarius mentality is necessary to make any progress. This directly refers to thinking and acting with others in mind instead of only ourselves. As we move forward from this full moon, remember that innovation is on the other side of uncertainty.

Honor the full moon in Aquarius by touching base with your friends. Aquarius energy is notoriously unpredictable as this zodiac sign likes to come and go as it pleases since true friendships will never break no matter what has transpired. Given the state of the world, this full moon reminds us to be a little more present with our friends, especially those that we may not see or hear from as often. Lean into the ambivert nature of the lunation by reconnecting through text, phone calls, or video chat. You may even be surprised by how much there is to catch up with your friends!

A few significant aspects are at play since the full moon conjuncts Saturn retrograde in Aquarius while squaring both Uranus and the North Node in Taurus. The conjunction is considered the more positive of the three aspects as the moon is in harmony with the regressing malefic master teacher. Saturn retrograde is surprisingly open to revision as it knows that some constraints should be lifted to revamp whatever structure or hierarchy is in place to create something more sustainable than ever. Since the stoic moon is on the same page as Saturn retrograde, there is an emotional awareness of what needs to change or be stabilized. Intuitive processing has a serious tone since being emotionally invested is necessary to work toward goals. However, Saturn retrograde conjunct moon could also allude to the prioritization of emotional regulation and processing. It might be time to touch upon coping mechanisms. Then the two squares suggest intensity! Wild child Uranus and the lunar node of fate and destiny already have such an intimate part to play throughout August. Since both celestial bodies square the full moon, there is a surprising misdirection following the end of a cycle. The question, “now what?” will linger in the back of one’s mind throughout the lunar squares. How something comes to fruition or full circle is jarring. Unpredictable outcomes are likely, which may be dissatisfying if the effort to do everything right will be overcome by the greater good of an individual’s journey. Both squares could knock the wind out of the full moon if given a chance. Although potentially misleading, the squares may also imply sudden steadiness after a long, arduous journey through non-conformity and eccentricity.

The Rising signs can expect a cycle to come to a close in these Houses:

  • Aries Rising: 11th House of Greater Community, Friends, Friend Groups, Social Groups, Technology, Dreams, & Humanity

While the full moon is unfolding, Venus will ingress into Leo. Now reporting to the solar luminary, Venus takes on a shimmering, golden hue. Venus typically doesn’t love fire signs as its exile in Aries. However, a sun-ruled Venus cannot help but be a bright light in love, money, and aesthetics. Venus in Leo likes to dazzle in love. Ideally, there is no other lover or better lover than Venus in Leo. Now is the time to show your partner or potential partner what you are made of! Brandish your talents, exude warm confidence, and dress to kill during this beautiful Venusian transit. Showing up with self-assuredness will assist you in any romantic endeavor. Since Leo is the zodiac sign associated with romance and sensual pleasure, Venus will adapt these qualities with childlike wonder. It’ll be like falling in love all over again for the first time. Something sweet and seemingly naive carries through Venus in Leo. All Venus in Leo wants to do is win a love interest over with its sunny disposition. Winning someone over may be done creatively since Venus in Leo is a huge fan of significant romantic gestures. A dozen roses may arrive when you least expect it, or you could walk into a candle-lit dinner. Venus in Leo encourages all of us to show our love interests how much we care through grand gestures of affection and adoration. Since Mercury will be in Virgo at this time, it could even come across as focusing on the details of what your lover enjoys. Taking note of what they are saying, bringing them meaningful gifts, and writing love poetry are excellent ways to enjoy the presence of these two transits. Aside from this, you may notice an upswing in boasting about partners in person and online. People will be hard launching their new boos while couples will be singing praises about their partners. Putting someone on a pedestal is sure to happen since Venus in Leo craves a “trophy wife” or to be part of a “power couple”. The drawback to this transit is the arrogant, bravado shadow side attributes of Venus in Leo. The regality of Venus in Leo demands a partner to kiss the ground one walks on. Although Venus in Leo is undoubtedly an arduous transit, it can be egotistical too. There’s an immense desire to be the “only one” or someone’s true love, implying that there can be tension due to jealousy. Loyalty is a must during Venus in Leo. But that also means that no one should come close to competing. So, this may not be the best transit to talk about past lovers or compare yourself to others if you are in some sort of a relationship with someone else. Another aspect would be putting someone on a pedestal only for them to fall short of expectations. Venus in Leo radiates positivity, so it’s challenging to not see the best in someone. However, if a romantic partner cannot tap into their potential or maintain their high standing, then Venus in Leo could lead to some significant disappointments. Venus in Leo views a romantic partner as an extension of the native, so this partner must match the native or even exceed expectations. Putting someone on a pedestal is a risky move as there could be a bigger letdown when the romantic partner fails. Competition within a relationship is also plausible. Ideally, Venus in Leo is with someone who embraces a forward-moving relationship where each person strives to be their best selves. Pushing one another towards excellence is needed in a fiery Venusian transit. However, insecurity or self-doubt could lead to unhealthy competition with a romantic partner.

Singles may find that this is the perfect transit to get back out there! Going forward into the dating scene with your head held high is a sure-fire way to attract new lovers. Singles can embody the optimistic quality of Venus in Leo, which will give them an extra “oomph!” on dates. Then couples can use this wonderful Venusian transit to spark pleasure. Leo is a fixed fire sign, which implies steadying and tending to the passion. So, couples may find that the love reawakens during Venus in Leo, especially when they prioritize sensual joy, hobbies, and creative outlets together. Regardless of your relationship status, you should plan an exceptional date during Venus in Leo. Ditch the movie and dinner date during this transit. Instead, plan something a little unexpected but romantic to show someone how much fun you are. It could be taking a lover to a paint and sip, a pottery class, an arcade, a day trip to the beach, or something else. Putting a little effort into a unique experience can go a long way!

Audacious styles are sure to debut once Venus enters Leo! Strut your stuff as if hitting the runway during this bold, magnetic Venusian transit. The aesthetic of Venus in Leo screams maximalism, glitz, glam, and shimmering gold. Bold hues and prints are on full display as Venus in Leo are not shy about making an appearance. If anything, this is your time to go big or go home. Splurge on decorative items that scream your personality so that you can deck out your sacred spaces. Inviting warm colors, fun prints, and funky metals is a fantastic way to spice up your usual decor. Do not let anyone tell you that something is “too much” during this transit. Gaudy is the new Gucci. After you’re done giving life to your sacred spaces, Venus in Leo invites you to adorn your body with the loudest, finest clothing and accessories. Venus in Leo spares no expense to look good and feel great. Adoring your body begins with self-care as Venus in Leo primps your look. Skincare, messages, healthy hair trims, touching up your roots, fresh make-up, and a new manicure are but a few ways to treat yourself. When you start with the basics, your confidence is sure to soar. Venus in Leo likes to feel good about every aspect of its beauty routine, so you are encouraged to enjoy the process of dolling yourself up. Then dress in something that makes you not only confident but also sexy. Venus in Leo is all about deep plunges, low backs, and hugging every curve in the right place. Dressing in well-made clothing that is tailored to your body is a fantastic way to feel confident. A structured silhouette can do wonders for your physique! Exciting colors and prints will also bring out a more fierce side to your style. Ideally, Venus in Leo will want to glimmer, so find some exciting gold-toned jewelry to complete the look. If you enjoy wearing make-up, then consider experimenting with the latest siren eye trend! Bronzer and highlighter will do just fine too. Finally, complete your look with your signature hairstyle. Venus in Leo needs to show off its fantastic mane of hair and so do you!

Dating the best and looking the best are not cheap! Venus in Leo is like finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Money matters will have a notably upbeat tone moving forward, so we may feel a little more cheerful about personal budgets and goals along with the economy. This positivity will also help us see the light at the end of the tunnel. Some of us may feel notably more confident about reaching our financial goals during Venus in Leo since this transit is highly committed to success. We may even be able to make light of economic matters during Venus in Leo, such as focusing on breaks in rising prices. For example, Venus in Leo may have you incredibly excited about finding that one hole-in-the-wall gas station with the cheapest gas prices around town! Since Venus in Leo is fixed fire, there is stability associated with financial passion. Money won’t burn an easy hole in your pocket during this fiery Venusian transit. However, Venus in Leo will be remarkably committed to financial excellence and investments. So, if you feel strongly about an endeavor or opportunity, then Venus in Leo will happily throw money in that direction. Committing yourself to financial opportunities has a remarkable stubbornness. Being this loyal could lead you toward a money pit or financial freedom – it depends on your Venusian commitment. However, there is a sort of arrogance and bravado that can come from Venus in Leo. Some may begin living well above their means instead of being somewhat realistic about incorporating reasonable treats into their budget. There could be an upswing in tone-deaf posts and quotes from the filthy rich that will cause an exceptional social backlash. Do not be surprised if people begin boasting more than usual about their finances, or recent luxuries. However, there could be a direct link between insecurity and showing-off during Venus in Leo to consider!

A little over a week later, tiny Mars leaves its exile by entering Gemini on August 20. Now that the warring planet is free from its slow-paced exile in Taurus, it practically flies into Mercurial Gemini! Mars is officially reporting to Mercury, which is rather ideal since transit Mercury is currently domicile in Virgo. A Mercury-ruled Mars implies that mental agility, communication, connections, and strategy is ultra-important. These themes tend to do notably well in matters of war. The warring planet isn’t outright aggressive or asserting in Gemini. But the masculine energy of Gemini allows Mars to react appropriately and readily as needed. Mars in Gemini is a little smarter, and more tactical in a fight than one may anticipate. Since a Mercury-ruled Mars takes note of everything, it’s easier to absorb information in real time to apply to an ever-evolving strategy. You can use your connections and mental prowess to make the most of the fight that you are in. Socially isolation is possible by destroying one’s reputation through conversation. Words hold immense power as you can wield them to your advantage to have the upper hand. Since Mars in Gemini has a two-faced quality, this may come out in a fight on either end. It could refer to a dispute that is either exceptionally public or private. It could refer to someone’s nastier side finally coming out. Little white lies may also be part of the argument since Mars in Gemini’s own words may be the eventual downfall! Since there is a “he said, she said” and “loose lips sink ships” essence to the arguments, honesty should become your best policy. You’ll never have to worry about remembering something correctly if it’s the truth. Luckily, the mutability of Mars in Gemini can diffuse tension. As soon as something starts it may dissipate in moments. Walking away or not giving the time of day to an unnecessary squabble is possible, too, since Mars in Gemini is a fickle fighter. The light-hearted tone of Gemini may even help diffuse a fight with a half-hearted joke! Mutable Mars is not gunning for a fight, so it’ll be easy to skirt out of one.

The fickleness of Mars in Gemini may diffuse tension, but it might not help with ambition. Divergent Mars is so utterly curious about a million things all at once. Like a kid in the candy store, Mars in Gemini goes toward whatever catches its eye. Curiosity takes over any strength to commit to a singular course of action. Do not be surprised if there are quite a few half-finished projects left in your wake throughout Mars in Gemini. You may start something, not get very far, lose interest, then go with something else. Although this is perfect for experimentation, it’s not necessarily fantastic for garnering success. Mars in Gemini will struggle while working toward completion because this transit shows us something better to focus on. Luckily, this is a fantastic transit for multitasking and exploration. Look into your various interests to see what sticks! Take time to switch things up, try new things, and abandon something if it no longer works for you. Since the mutable aspect is adaptable, you can even focus on a few endeavors or outlets at once. The catch is not biting off more than you can chew since mutable Mars in Gemini may feel like it can take on quite a bit. So, if you become overloaded with responsibilities, this may also cause you to have issues with completing a few of your projects.

Sexually, Mars in Gemini is super handsy! Sexual matters are flexible, implying that an easygoing relationship or open partnership is preferred so that Mars in Gemini can get a taste of everything. However, Venus in Leo does crave eventual commitment and loyalty, so you may need to DTR when you continually go back to one specific sexual partner. Aside from this, Mars in Gemini is remarkably experimental. Sexual endeavors with a variety of individuals are preferred, especially if you can engage with a few partners in one sitting. Since Mars in Gemini can multitask, this may help with twosomes, threesomes, etc. Orgies are not as overwhelming since Mars in Gemini will want to stimulate its sexual curiosity by experiencing as much as possible. Exploring sexual curiosity is a must during this transit! Think about giving it a go by trying a few of your fantasies or kinks. Likewise, your partner may have something new to try in the bedroom, so you might be more open-minded during this Martian transit. The undertones of Mercury can assist as well. Mercury-ruled Mars is unabashed about being sexually communicative. Dirty talking, sweet nothings, explicit pictures, communicating sensual boundaries, opening up about past experiences, and more are more than likely. Foreplay can be incredibly mentally and communicatively stimulating. A fantastic way to explore this side of Mars is through role-playing. Consider getting into character with your partner not only in the bedroom but outside of the bedroom too. You and your partner could pretend to meet each other for the first time in your designated roles then slowly make your way back to the bedroom. A great pop culture reference is Samantha’s and Smith’s relationship in Sex and the City, specifically season 6, episode 4.

The summery season begins to transition to fall as the sun enters Virgo on August 22. Now that the solar luminary has left its domicile, the sun will now begin reporting to Mercury. Luckily, Mercury is domicile and exalted by the time the sun enters Virgo! Virgo season exudes the mutable, feminine earth traits. Editorial processes are bound to take place as the sun in Virgo adapts on a whim. Since this is mutable earth, you could think of Virgo season like clay. It’s relatively stable yet still semi-flexible. Shaping your habits or practices is done cautiously yet deliberately during Virgo season. It may look like finding a method to your madness. Seeking order through disorder and disorganization is a prominent theme as Virgo season aims to make sense of everything around it. Part of creating this orderliness is creating boundaries, but this may be challenging as Virgo is a zodiac sign that rules over service. Elements of helping others or exploring our interpersonal compassion are evident. However, the catch is remembering to prioritize our needs as well as others’ needs. One last thing to consider is health as Virgo rules over physical health, practices, habits, and holistic matters. Be mindful of how you treat your body and mind since your well-being is remarkably important during Virgo season!

Shortly after, Uranus stations retrograde in Taurus from August 24 to January 22, 2023. Regressing at 18 degrees in Taurus, Uranus is officially taking a step back. Uranus retrograde is focused on rethinking, reviewing, then revising the Uranian themes of individuality, authenticity, community, innovation, technology, chaos, and rebellion. As these themes become more introverted, it will feel like a subtle yet tangible earthquake waiting to erupt within each of us. Similar to Neptune, Uranus retrograde is actually easier to manage than a direct Uranus. The ability to zone in on the brilliance of Uranus is possible without the unpredictability of it getting in the way. Wildcard Uranus tones down its eccentric expression while stationed retrograde. By having a seemingly calmer erratic energy, Uranus retrograde can assist with solo and communal revolutions. The path becomes somewhat clearer or at least more direct with Uranus retrograde. A clear perspective of what needs to change, revolutionize, or modernize is apparent. Since Uranus retrograde is occurring in Taurus, the regressing wild child planet is reporting to Venus. Venus’s undertones suggest that romance, commitment, money, value, and aesthetics are part of this internalized dissent. Taurus’s fixed, feminine nature allows us to react passively yet steadily. Processing the impact of Uranus retrograde is remarkably slow since Taurus needs a moment to gather its bearings while working through an uncomfortable period toward certainty. The desire for security and stability is internally insurrected while Uranus retrograde slides back through the sign of the Bull. Although potentially jarring, the effects of Uranus retrograde in Taurus take time to become apparent in our physical world. Tangible expressions of change will eventually pop up during this period. Fixed signs between 14 to 18 degrees will be significantly impacted by this retrograde.

Then Mercury enters Libra a day later. Although Mercury is saddened to leave its favorite sign, it can find something to look forward to in Libra. Now that the cosmic messenger is reporting to Venus, there is a sweet yet subtle undertone of love, value, and beauty. Venus gives Mercury a charming eloquence, suggesting that Mercury in Libra is quite the sweet talker! Graceful Mercury in Libra has the gift of gab. Flirting comes easily as does getting through mindless small talk. Mercury in Libra can talk to anyone – even a wall. Striking up a conversation or taking the lead with a close-knit group is an easy feat for Mercury in Libra to manage. The cardinal and masculine qualities of Libra are amplified in Mercury as it becomes incredibly easy to get the ball rolling with others. Taking the lead with an idea or thought is also more than likely with a cardinal Mercury. However, Libra is the sign of the scales, so there needs to be balanced. Mercury in Libra is all about communicative and social reciprocity. Matching energy is key to working through Mercury in Libra’s interactions. After all, Libra is the zodiacal mirror, so it’s important to mirror in conversation. Mercury in Libra will help us match enthusiasm, humor, and excitement. But we can also readily square up in passive-aggressive interactions, or pissing contests. Mercury in Libra isn’t afraid to hit back with a “per my last email” vibe if that is the vibe that was received. But peace-seeking Libra will encourage Mercury to always take the high road. Harmony through communication and inner balance is commonplace during this Mercurial transit. Ideally, Mercury in Libra will want us to come out of every interaction or transgression smelling like roses.

Finally, the month concludes with a new moon in Virgo on August 27. The beginning of Virgo season comes with an opportunistic new moon that infers the next six months are full of possibilities. A new cycle will begin during this lunation that carries through to a full moon in Virgo during Pisces season. New moons can be an immense inspiration as there is an amply boost for the zodiac sign that it is in. With the undertone of Mercury coming through, there is a mental focus on creating healthy practices throughout this lunar period. Focusing the mind on the details that can bring together futuristic goals is possible. However, speaking and thinking positively yet realistically will be contingent upon the success that could come from this new moon cycle. We should consider the Virgoan themes of health, habits, routine, scheduling, work, and service when prepping for this new moon. Self-compassion is the best practice to adopt to make these themes work for us instead of against us. Self-compassion allows the individual to focus on cultivating a routine that prioritizes one’s wellbeing. By focusing on ourselves first, we can then lean into the service aspect of Virgo to help others.

There is no better way to spend this new moon than by cleaning up! Decluttering is necessary before new means of abundance can come through. The new moon in Virgo desires a method for the madness, some sort of organization or routine that can assist with easing into a new lunar cycle. You could use this practical lunar energy to do away with knick-knacks and other materials that take up unnecessary space in your physical life. Taking time to clean up your house, room, workspace, car, and more is a great way to focus on what you need the most to function. However, decluttering can refer to more than just swiping Windex over your windows or a Clorox wipe across your kitchen counters. Consider what seems “messy” in your life. Is it your phone, full of old pictures, contacts, and messages that no longer serve you? Is it your love life, full of half-hearted attempts and people who won’t DTR with you? Is it your desktop computer, cluttered with a spread of files? Is it your social groups, masked with silly drama and fickle friends? Is it your mind, complete with a never-ending critical or anxious monologue? Decluttering goes beyond the mundane, physical realm. Now is the time to embrace a clean slate!

Luna forms only one aspect today – a square with Mars in Gemini. The tension between the moon and cosmic messenger is mentally palpable as both planets are reporting to Mercury. Luckily, Mercury is in peaceful Libra which provides the opportunity to balance the mind and body. However, a moon-Mars square can indicate tense emotions potentially running high. The detail-focused moon is considering everything, possibly getting worked up in the process of analysis paralysis. Seized by intuitive facts, Mars comes in with a flighty flair that only adds mutable chaos to the disorganization. If mental and social stressors get to be too much during this square, then we may accidentally unleash our inner monologues in a hurtful manner. But bottling up how you feel will ooze out in other ways, such as somatic complaints. So, the square encourages us to seek a middle ground to quiet our minds and find peace within our bodies. Healthy coping mechanisms, like talk therapy or journalling, can help work through this square. Although potentially stressful, the new moon forming a square with Mars could be considered an emotional incentive to invest yourself into successfully bringing a manifestation to completion. Moon-Mars squares can be used as a driving force of action. Our gumption to move forward to pursue our curiosities is heightened by the square. However, the shared mutable energy suggests a diffused momentum or lacking clear direction to go after one thing at a time. Instead of focusing on one outlet or endeavor, we may find ourselves tirelessly multitasking because of this square!
