August Forecast

As summer comes to an end, the drama does too. The energy peaked in June and July between the retrogrades and eclipses, but August looks less intimidating in comparison. It isn’t to say that all planets are now direct or that the ecliptic energy isn’t still present in the new lunar cycle. But rather, that the significant transits are moving into air and earth sign energy, bringing intellectual groundedness to the astrological energy field. With that being said, another outer planet does station Retrograde during August but this isn’t a notable cause for concern as most outer planets spend the majority of their time in Retrograde. As we head into the astrological energy in August, something to keep in mind is that we’re transitioning throughout the month from ending the first half of the Zodiac modality while going into the second half. Now, let’s dive into what’s going on throughout August!

Major Transits

The first major transit is on August 11, when Mercury enters its domicile in Virgo. While Mercury was goofing around in the childlike Leo, it’s now transitioning to a more nervous, thoughtful energy in Virgo. Mercury is at home in Virgo, finding comfort in the organized chaos that Virgo brings to the table. Mutable and fluid, yet focused and task-oriented, Mercury in Virgo is a mental force to reckon with. Mercury in Virgo is hyperactive. This energy is laser-focused on many ongoing projects, details, and goals all at once. While the mind is mutable, it’s stable thanks to the earthy component of Virgo. Conversations take a more passive approach in this feminine sign. Mercury in Virgo prefers to be a fly on the wall, assessing before acting in any discussion. So, this is the time to take a step back in the conversation to be more strategic in conversation. Mercury in Virgo is the call for attention to detail, especially in conferences. It would be wise to lean into this to proofread yourself and others for clarity, facts, and straightforward reason. Mercury in Virgo doesn’t waste time with uneventful or unnecessary dialogue. It’s the perfect transit to pick and choose your battles. It’s also excellent for fact-checking others and yourself, especially dialogue is essential to have around this time. The tone of this transit is clever. Mercury in Virgo is perfectionistic, so this is the best time to set the record straight or find rhyme within reason. The beauty of this transit is the fluidity of it. Lean in and out of dialogue, debate, and fact-checking. Know when to set boundaries and when to walk away. It’s beautiful for timely engagement in mental matters. However, Mercury in Virgo can be anxious. It may be a time where some feel the restless nature of this transit, so anxiety and self-debilitating inner dialogue is more apparent. This may present as somatic complaints, like stomach and digestion issues. So, Mercury in Virgo is the transit that calls us to take care of our minds as our minds will deeply affect our physical beings.

Next, Venus entering its domicile in Libra on August 16! Venus in Libra is the masculine expression of Venusian values. To be in a masculine expression implies a more active or assertive tone in presenting Venusian aspects. However, the sign of the Scales will greatly deliberate any potential point of action. When it comes to beauty, there is symmetry. Venus in Libra idolizes a balanced beauty regime. There should be themes of symmetry, which can come across as balancing all aspects of an outfit, finding the right fit, or even perfecting a make-up style. After all, this Venusian expression of vibrance comes across as simple, yet put together. Venus in Libra values a beauty regime that breaks down the basics and balances all aspects of the body out. So, this looks like engaging in a health regime, ensuring that a hairstyle is perfectly put together, or finding coordination in outfits. Beauty ought to be effortless under this transit. It’s the very nature of Kim Kardashian showing off her full glam “natural, neutral” look. It may be the transit to look into skincare, especially if it involves clearing up blemishes or uneven tones. Venus in Libra will emphasize the butt and hips in terms of beauty standards at this time. When it comes to fiscal feats, Venus in Libra aims for reciprocity. Money should be stable around this time. There should be an ideal financial state to be in, such as leveling off a bank account or keeping a certain standard in a savings account at all times. It can be a great time to balance the books, especially with the budget to spending ratio. Since Libra is a social air sign who governs commitments, this may be a transit to consider new financial engagements. It could be a time where new business partners or mutual investments come up, which may be worth exploring if the commitment is reciprocal. So, it may be a time where there are many potential commitments on the table, but it would be wise to sit in a bit of indecision to ensure that each possible commitment is worth the investment. Aside from this, Venus in Libra can be a socially active time, so this may help or hinder the budget. It all depends on one’s relationship with money, especially knowing when to cap it or when to enjoy it. Finally, Venus in Libra desires a fair, just love around this time. Venus in Libra is the epitome of “we”, so romance is a huge focus for everyone! Single or committed, the goal is romance. Venus in Libra desires its other half to feel complete, so this social sign will flirt and date. For singles, Venus in Libra is the best transit to explore potential relationships. It can be a great time to join a dating app or get out of the comfort zone to meet more potential partners. Venus in Libra is sweet and romantic, so it’s fun energy to toy with for first dates. It can also lead to situationships where commitment is craved, but not determined. After all, Venus in Libra is all about appeasing the other, so singles may find themselves compromising what they want in a relationship for the other person involved. This theme translates to couples under this transit. Couples will also be pondering what’s up in their relationships under Venus in Libra. Is it the best commitment, or could it be better? Venus in Libra deliberates all possibilities of devotion, with both sides taken into consideration. It can be a great time to determine what is desired out of commitment, and what that looks like. Don’t be surprised if this is the time where multiple people are announcing engagements, new partners, or even break-ups!

Shortly after, Uranus stations retrograde in Taurus on August 19. Retrogrades are a call to rethink, review, revise. It’s a time where everything is a little backward, but much-needed as it’s time to take a step back to re-evaluate the issues at hand. Uranus in retrograde is inverted wake-up, shake-up energy. It’s time to revolutionize but from within. Uranus Rx in Taurus is a time to also rethink, review, revise Taurus themes of values, monetary gain, finances, romance, and stability. All aspects of Taurus come into consideration for reformation at this time. Uranus Rx is looking to dismantle the fixed Bull in hopes of creating something steadier and longer-lasting. In a collective sense, Uranus Rx can considerably impact both the physical earth and the economy. It is a time where matters related to global warming come into consideration, perhaps with a revisitation to certain protocols or standards especially since 2020 was a record-breaking year for extreme global impact. It can also refer to significant periods of extreme weather occurrences especially since Uranus will be in retrograde during hurricane season. If interested in weather-related predictions for this transit, check out the Long Range Weather Forecast for North America. There may be a cross-correlation with the retrograde and significant weather in certain areas. Aside from this, since the theme of any retrograde is to rethink, review, revise, the Uranus Rx may be a time to reconsider economic efforts. Aspects of any economy may come into consideration at this time. Since Saturn is also retrograde in Aquarius, there may be a heavy focus on cryptocurrency, especially after the To The Moon debacle back in February. There could be a call (or demand) to reform cryptocurrency standards, such as how much to buy, sell, and trade to prevent the stock market from potentially crashing yet again. Then again, the stock market may just crash throughout the transit period, which would still be a call to revise aspects of the market itself. COVID-19 relief and unemployment benefits may also take an unexpected turn during Uranus Rx. With COVID-19 in consideration, there may be an additional impact on resource shortages, which then relays to increased prices. In particular, oil would likely be the retrograde focus of supply and demand – or lack of. To summarize, Uranus Rx is calling for the individual to rethink, review, revise their idea of stability, budgeting, and indulgence. Regarding the collective, Uranus Rx is the beginning of a serious revolution for economic prosperity (or lack of), global warming efforts and impact, and the potential to reform cryptocurrency regulations.

Then August 22 is looking a little jam-packed with both the Full Moon and the Sun entering a new sign.

The Full Moon is occurring in Aquarius. Full Moons represent a celestial celebration for the end of a cycle or chapter in one’s life. Under the luminous Full Moon in Aquarius, there is a call to look back at the last six- months when closing a chapter. Themes surrounding this glowing transit include individualism, revolution, humanitarianism, greater communities, dreams, and technology. On a large scale, this Full Moon can call to head one, if not many, of these Aquarian aspects. For some, there may be a recognition of a humanitarian effort being made such as a new bill passing concerning a human rights movement, especially in honor of a specific event or individual involved in the momentum of the bill. In particular, the USA could be seeing a collective response to women’s rights, especially regarding access to healthcare and safe yet legal abortion practices. There could be an ending in technology or research, such as the cumulation of the past six-month events. For example, significant COVID-19 vaccine research may be presented around this time, which could mark the potential ending in sight for the pandemic. Essentially, finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Technological reformation could have been made, particularly regarding cryptocurrency regulations and access to technology. Lastly, dreams for the greater community may come to head around this time. I would think the over-arching hope would be COVID-19 related as it may refer to the general hope of the pandemic ending with the widespread implementation and access to multiple vaccines. For the individual, the Full Moon in Aquarius may mark a chapter closing in larger communities and individuality. Full Moon may call for us to notice that there was a significant period of self-discovery over the last six months, particularly with getting comfortable with the weird and unusual aspects of the self. It may also be a time to celebrate the communities one has been part of as well.

Under the Full Moon, the Rising signs should consider closing or acknowledging a chapter ending in these Houses;

  • Aries Rising: 11th House of Greater Community, Friends, Friend Groups, Social Groups, Technology, Dreams, Humanity
  • Taurus Rising: 10th House of Career, Legacy, Recognition, Public Status
  • Gemini Rising: 9th House of Long-Term Travel, Higher Education, Spirituality, Law, Ethics, Morals, Beliefs
  • Cancer Rising: 8th House of Merging, Joint Assets/Finances, Marriages/Divorces, Taboo, Occult, Psychology, Sexual Bonds
  • Leo Rising: 7th House of Contracts, Commitments, Partners (of all kinds)
  • Virgo Rising: 6th House of Work, Daily Grind, Routine, Healthy Habits/Practices, Pets
  • Libra Rising: 5th House of Joy, Fun, Hobbies, Past-Times, Pregnancy/Children, Dating/Romance, Drama
  • Scorpio Rising: 4th House of Home, Family, Heritage, Mother/Mother-Figure
  • Sagittarius Rising: 3rd House of Neighborhood, Local Community, Local/Short-Distance Travel, Communication, & Siblings
  • Capricorn Rising: 2nd House of Personal Finances, Financial Security, Material Items, Personal Property, Values
  • Aquarius Rising: 1st House of the Self & Perception
  • Pisces Rising: 12th House of Self-Undoing, Hidden Enemies, Hidden Weaknesses, Hidden Talents

The Sun will also be in Virgo, the sign that will transition us out of the first half of the Zodiacal modality and into the second half. Virgo Season is governed by a mutable, feminine earth sign. The mutable yet earthy nature of this sign is clay-like. Virgo Season is all about molding, adapting, and flowing in a stable momentum. The feminine aspect of Virgo Season is passive in nature, intelligent in its ability to assess before acting. Virgo Season is a time to invest in healthy habits, such as setting up a doable routine, holding boundaries, and prioritizing health.

Finally, Mercury leaves its humble abode in Virgo for the deliberating Libra on August 30. Mercury’s leaving its domicile for a peregrine sign, so the energy doesn’t massively shift from dignified to debilitated. If anything, Mercury may welcome Libra’s state of mind. Light, airy, and social, Mercury in Libra enjoys bantering with others. As Mercury is in the sign of “we”, communication becomes a two-way street. Mercury in Libra is balanced and fair, wanting to see the other side of the story. It indulges in a devil’s advocate position. This Mercurial transit wants to understand every perspective, so it does entertain all sorts of talk. While this can help gauge an audience, gathering information, and deepening connections, it can also pose problems with drama. If executed in a light attribute, Mercury in Libra can be deliberately helpful. It can be an excellent transit to consider a different perspective in a brainy, yet detached light. If executed in a shadow attribute, Mercury in Libra can be a pot-stirrer. Mercury in Libra will indulge in all types of talks, which can ultimately put this Mercurial transit in a hotbed of drama. Be wary of navigating the devil’s advocate position as this transit walks the line of being helpful and socially curious. To be socially curious can persist and sustain unnecessary falsehoods. Aside from this, the commitment-focused Libra is action-oriented in deepening connections through conversations. Mental Mercury is flirty in Libra. Dating is a social game, one where Libra uses compliments and comments like chess pieces. It is the ideal transit to explore romantic options with social grace. Mercury in Libra can help singles come across as charmingly romantic on dates and dating apps. It can also help couples come together to compromise, find common ground in their ideal commitment, and even move commitment to the next level (whatever that is for the couple). In addition to the beauty of this Venusian-influenced Mercury transit, keep in mind that Libra is also highly indecisive. This transit is a time where all pros and cons are weighed extensively. There will be more deliberation than determinism under this transit. Mercury in Libra prefers indecision as it allows for enough time to pass to figure out the best way to implement a decision that suits everyone. So, this social Mercury transit is actively considering all pros and cons with societal standards and expectations when it comes to committing to a decision at hand. Don’t be surprised if people seem more interested in other’s opinions or advice around this time. It may also be a time where most may not feel comfortable putting their foot down on a decision. Consider Mercury in Libra a limbo period of social engagement, assessment, and consideration.
